Getto krakowskie (The Krakow Ghetto) shows the contrast of life of the Krakow inhabitants. The first perspective presents events before the outbreak of World War II, the next one shows life just after it. A life different and difficult to imagine.
The plot tells about the experiences of Holocaust victims, where you can see scenes from the ghetto and the Płaszów camp. Hunger, cold and fear of losing one’s own life, the life of loved ones or one’s dignity determine people’s behavior in those times.
„Here, however, you cannot want or not want anything. You die when you want to live, and you live when the desire to live ceases.”
The performance inspired by the memories of Stella Müller-Madej (A girl from the Schindler’s list) was created for the 75th anniversary of the liquidation of the Krakow Ghetto in March 2018.
The performers are dancers of various nationalities, which emphasizes one of the goals of the project, which is to spread tolerance for different nations or cultures among society.
